It has been raining for some time
now and aside from Seattle where
the record is from all appearances
about to be eclipsed, we are experiencing
days of torential rain. All the local
waterways are either at bank-full or
very close to it. I include some photos
of the Willamette River taken from
the bike bridge to Valley River Center
and Amazon Creek at the footbridge.
The only saving grace is the daily temp
that seems to hover in the low 50's.
This morning I decided to use the Van
instead of the trusty bike. It was a
good choice as the rain was falling
in bucketfulls. On Thursday norma and
I will be going to the Symphony and
listening to The Rites of Spring and a
composition by my favorite composer
Philip Glass.

Hi juicyfruiter, I did check out your blog and
it looks like you are enjoying the duties of
a ranger. When my wife and I were on Kauai,
while she helicoptered around the island,
I busied myself cleaning up a small city park
that fronted on the bay and because it was
just after new years, was full of waste from
fireworks. I got a small waste bag full and
garnered some positive response from some
of the locals. Keep up your good works!
