This is my first posting of the new year.
Though my wife and I had planned to
spend some time on the coast around the
new years, harsh weather cut short those
plans. In fact the road to the coast was under
water for some part of the weekend. Anyhow
we hunkered down at home and watched the
ball fall in Times Square. Now the month is
moving on and the weather is causing floods
again. I just checked and the Siuslaw River is
predicted to flood in the next 48 hours. We
hear that the main grounds of the Country
Fair are flooded and so there may be some
mariners out on the waters this weekend. Not
me though. Riding on into the new year, I am
dealing with some rain and a bit of wind but
nothing that I can not handle. We have set a
tentative plan for Kauai in 2007 if we can save
up enuf. Plan to contact our friend on the island
to let her know our intents. Just looking at the
island radar, most of the precip is on the south
side Poipu Beach area. The temp here continues
to be on the mild side with nite readings in the
40s and days in the low 50s.
