It is now post-fair and we just returned from our site, taking down banners and securing the structure for "Culture Jam" a weeklong gathering of High Schoolers interested in The Arts. For me the Fair was an opportunity to serve the people and pick up countless cigarette butts. Each morning before the gate opened, I strolled the zone where guests arrived by bus and the roadway leading to general entrances. I pulled at least 50 butts from each sand bucket and scores more from our collection of "butt cans." We were gifted with mild temperatures after a scorching 4th of July.
