The Teddy Bear Picnic is over and all the many items left on the Main Stage Meadow have been collected and distributed to L and F or put into various cans for recycle or trash landfill. Estimated 500+ attended and by all accounts they had a great time. The appearance of Eugene's favorite band, The Sugar Beets was a big crowd pleaser. Norma's birthday landed on the same day and afforded her a chance to hear "Happy Birthday" sung many times. We spent the night and along with Anita, cleaned up the potluck diner area and the meadow. Later we walked "The Eight" looking for any debris. Not much out there and that made me glad. Later we struck the dome and packed it all into "The Legend." Today it all went up to the attic and will stay there till next Fair. It has been a great summer even though I had to have unexpected surgery and the dental work. My dentist just took care of a bit of decay - we hope all will now be OK and no more visits till cleaning time in February. Feeling a bit of a twinge listening to the broadcast from BurningMan. Knowing that the festival offers one of a kind experiences but the entry is daunting. Not planning to visit Hawaii this winter - maybe next year. Got a trip back to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving planned. It will be good to see the relations. For now, Summer continues with temps going into the mid-ninties by midweek. It will be warm at the shop but not for long. September will bring cooler mornings for brisk bike travel.
