here it is almost 10 o'clock and my vacation is almost at an end. From midwednesday
to end of monday, a good 5.5 days off. We visited country friends on Sunday and enjoyed
their hospitality. While the women went off in search of blackberries, the men sat around
and looked at possible home sites in Hawaii and Vancouver, B C. We spoke of the
shame of New Orleans and the need to prepare for our own situations. Whether it be
volcanic, forest fire, earthquake, flood or something we don't even know how to prepare
for at least we will do what we can, set aside H2O, food, energy systems, lights, t r a n s p o r t a t i o n,
cut back on use of fuel consuming devices. Ride that bike (is this trip truly necessary?) or
do your heart a good turn by walking.
