May 30
Last night thunder muttered in the distance and then the downpour. Not lasting for long-maybe 15 minutes. This change ushered in a major shift in the Weather for coming week. Today, a drizzle accompanies a good 15 to 20 degree drop. By monday the rain event will  be coming to a close and the first part of the week promises 'days in the low 70's. Yesterday norma and i celebrated our 16th anniversary with a special dinner catered by Beppe and Giani's. She ordered pasta and i had my favorite - Bishop's Hats. For dessert she had Cheesecake and i had Tiramisu. We watched Star Trek DS9. The virus has forced great changes in our lives. Not going out without masking and keeping the Social Distance required to help the Community. Lane County has done relatively well with 2 deaths so far. Over the Nation we have gone over 100,00 and flare ups keep occurring. A farm outside Portland has almost 30 cases in the Migrant Workers that work the harvest of grass seed. We just watched a successful launch of SpaceX's Dragon Capsule to the Space Station. Thursday the launch was scrubbed due to threatening weather but today the conditions though marginal, allowed the activities to go forth. It was thrilling to see the great rocket clear the facilities and thunder into the sky. A few minutes later the 1st Stage was on a receiving ship and the 2nd Stage had separated from the Dragon. In about 17 hours the Capsule should dock at the Station.
