And The Rains Came...
Moving into the latter part of February, the Pineapple Express delivered copious amounts of rain to The Western Half of Oregon and feet of snow to The Cascade ski runs. Coastal rivers burst their banks and waterlogged trees crash on highways and homes. Not long after we experienced one of the most punishing ice storms in recent memory, torrential rains of inches per hour soak watersheds and promise a full reservoir for many western streams. My bike route remains flooded and come Monday, detours will be necessary. As the temp begins a slow decline back into the low 30's by mid week, snow again shows up on the forecast. If it comes, I probably will rely on my dependable Clifford, my Nissan Sentra.
