New Years at the Opera

The night of December 31, norma and I went to the Opera at
The Hult Center. Feature was "The Magic Flute" by Mozart.
We met some friends before the show and one was gracious
enough to take a photo of us on the Mezzanine Level before
the show. We had good seats and greatly enjoyed the
performance. Our experience was due to my sister, Mary
Jo, who sent us a generous holiday gift along with a large
shipment of backyard pecans. Now it is raining, snowing, and
sometimes freezing rain that greatly hampers my travel in
the morning by bike to work. Nevertheless, I endure and have
not had any accidents. Throughout the county, the story is
somewhat different with numerous fenderbenders and slides
off the pavement into the ditch. Many roads have been closed
by fallen trees and mudslides. We are just about to get another
blast of winter tonight and tomorrow with some snow to pile
up on the valley floor.
