Letter To The Editor

The following is the text of a letter my wife wrote to the Eugene Register-Guard and was published
on Monday, August 14.

Bush should extend his vacation.

  The good news is that the Current Occupant, as Garrison Keilor calls him, is taking a vacation from the White House. The bad news is that it's only for 10 days.
   I think he's earned a much longer respite. In fact, I think President Bush should take the rest of his life off. We'll all be so much better off if he does.
   And while he's at it, he can take Rummy, Condi, Dick and Alberto with him. They should visit far away -very far away-places. Beirut is a scenic wonder.
   At one time T.C.O. talked about putting a person on Mars. I think he's just the candidate for the job and when he and the rest of the lying, thieving, murdering miscreants he hangs around with go into space, it won't be a moment too soon.
   Happy vacationing, junior. Take your time. Don't come back too quickly. In fact, don't come back at all. We will once again be a greatful nation.
